The Interdisciplinary Center of Social Sciences, pole of the University of Évora – CICS.NOVA.UÉvora – holds on November 15 the annual Conference “Challenges and dilemmas in a (accelerated) changing world.” This is an opportunity to discuss research ideas and projects at different stages of development in a context of collegiality and peer sharing.

Since its genesis from the Évora pole of CESNOVA, interdisciplinary research unit of the University of Évora subsequently integrated in the Interdisciplinary Center of Social Sciences (CICS.NOVA) coordinated at national level by the NEW UNL FCSH, their researchers have contributed to the production of knowledge about the territorial and social dynamics inherent in transition areas and/or low density territories, making commitments in the field of fundamental and applied research, from the training of researchers/the juniors and in technical-scientific advice to university extension work, with emphasis on the problems of the Alentejo Region.

The Annual Conference of CICS.NOVA.UÉvora is an important moment to launch a new look at the interdisciplinary approaches to the complex problems and societal challenges that emerge every day, and to strengthen the identity and cohesion of the ICRC.

The Polo Directorate of the University of Évora of CICS.NOVA.UÉvora invites all interested parties to join its Annual Conference – HERE – and submit proposals for sharing, scientific creation, reflection and interdisciplinary discussion, subject to the following subjects:, analytical axes and/or areas of work of IU&D research groups:

ORGANIZATION

The Conference is organized by the pole of the University of Évora of CICS.NOVA.UÉvora, with the support of the UI&D CICS.NOVA – Interdisciplinary Center of Social Sciences of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences (NOVA FCOVA SH) of the New University of Lisbon, of the poles of the University of the Azores (CICS.NOVA.Leiria), Polytechnic Institute of Leiria (CICS.NOVA.IPLeiria) and University of Minho (CICS.NOVA.UMinho).
